My story ‘Stars’ has been selected as one of the winners of the Solstice Shorts Festival Competition, a literature and folk music festival run by Arachne Press. The festival will take place on 21 December which, as well as being winter solstice, is also National Short Story Day.
16 time-themed stories will be read every half hour between sunrise and sunset at the West Greenwich Library and the Royal Observatory Greenwich, including stories written by judges Alison Moore, Robert Shearman, Anita Sethi and Imogen Robertson. Readings are free to attend.
There will also be writing and music workshops during the day at the cost of £5.00. It is hoped that the whole festival will be broadcast live on the internet.
The stories will be published in an anthology, Solstice Shorts: 16 stories about time. More details to follow…
I’ve now come to the end of the NZSA mentorship programme. Many thanks to NZSA, Creative New Zealand and Penelope Todd of Rosa Mira Books.
