Our Cornish Short Stories: A Collection of Contemporary Cornish Writing call for submissions is underway. As co-editors, Felicity Notley and I are looking for unpublished short stories from new, emerging and existing writers from Cornwall for an anthology to be published by The History Press in 2018 . Find full details on the Cornish Short Stories website. Follow us @CornishShorts and Cornish Shorts on Facebook.
Thank you to Short Stops, Derek Thompson at Strictly Writing and Along The Write Lines, Literature Works and Joe Melia at the Bristol Short Story Prize for helping to spread the word.
During 2017, I’m also pleased to be taking part in Coast Lines, a collaborative book project set up by artist in residence at the Cornwall Records Office, Sue Lewington.
Very pleased to hear that my story, Girls On Motorbikes, has been commended in the Prolitzer Prize for Prose Writing by judge Jaki McCarrick. Congratulations to winner Melanie Whipman, runners-up Aidan O’Reilly and Karina Vidler and the other commended writers Catherine McNamara and Shauna Mackay.
Some weeks ago, Derek Thompson invited me to do a Q&A for the Strictly Writing blog. It’s about The Lost of Syros, my short story collection, and how I found my publisher, Cultured Llama Press. You can read the interview here.
