There will be a live performance of my story, The Pledge, during a celebration of the Society of Authors’ Tom-Gallon Award at the Darlington Arts Festival on 16 May 2015 . There is further information about the celebration in the Events tab.

A celebration of the Society of Authors’ Tom-Gallon Award will be held on Saturday 16 May at the Darlington Arts Festival. My story, ‘The Pledge,’ will be read, by a Liars’ League actor, alongside other recent winning stories by Carys Davies, Benjamin Myers and Samuel Wright.

The Tom-Gallon Award is an annual award for £1,000 financed by a bequest made by Miss Nellie Tom-Gallon in memory of her brother. It was first awarded in 1943; originally biennial, it is now awarded annually thanks to the support of the ALCS.

My short story, ‘The Wet’, has been published in takahe 83, the 25th anniversary issue. More details soon.

The Solstice Shorts Festival, a literature and folk music festival run by Arachne Press, will take place on 21 December 2014. As well as being winter solstice, the 21st is also National Short Story Day.Solstice Shorts winner

16 time-themed stories, including my story, ‘Stars’, will be read every half hour between sunrise and sunset at the West Greenwich Library and the Royal Observatory Greenwich, including stories written by judges Alison Moore, Robert Shearman, Anita Sethi and Imogen Robertson. Readings are free to attend.
